Sign up for UNCSW Office Hours next week!
Hey delegates — we have a quick announcement for you!
TL;DR UNCSW Office Hours are happening next week! Here are the dates and times below for your convenience:
Monday, March 4th, from 5 - 6 pm
(Head Chair Roxie will be facilitating this session)
Tuesday, March 5th, from 4 - 5 pm
(Chairs Roxie and Sara will be facilitating this session)
Wednesday, March 6th, from 4 - 5 pm
(Chairs Roxie and Kamilah will be facilitating this session)
So, what are office hours?
Put simply, office hours are a time for your delegation to meet with one (or a few) of the UNCSW chairs. This is a space for you to ask questions about committee, BMUN procedure, our topics, or anything else you can think of. You can also use this time to review your position paper with a chair, who will provide feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of your paper and point out potential areas for improvement (which can be useful for your research and writing skills in the future).
Grades and general comments on Huxley will be visible to you by the night of Sunday, March 3rd, (download the graded PDF) so that you have the option to look over those first before coming to office hours with more specific questions about applying your feedback to committee. If you have any questions about your position paper grade, we are more than willing to answer those as well. Please do not be afraid to sign up, even if you were unhappy about your grade or thought we graded your paper too harshly! As chairs, we value your feedback and want to be a resource for you leading up to BMUN.
Meeting your chairs, even if you do not have any specific questions or feedback, is a great idea too! This allows you to become more comfortable with raising your hand, making speeches, and writing notes to us during committee. We are here to help and want you to be as confident as possible going into conference weekend!
Don't forget to sign up for a slot here if you haven’t already! If you are hesitating about meeting the chairs, think of it this way — signing up can only help you. In fact, you could be getting feedback that will enhance your learning experience and allow you to perform better at BMUN and future conferences. It’s a small step that will hopefully help you make the best of BMUN Conference this year :)
That’s it for now! If you have any issues signing up or accessing the Zoom link, please email us at uncsw72@bmun.org. See you at office hours next week!
- Roxie, Bella, Kamilah, Sara, and Alaina
